 LUMUT (BRYOPHYTA)



 Bryophyta (Yunani, bryon = lumut, phyton = tumbuhan) merupakan anggota kingdom plantae yang paling sederhana dan bisa dikatakan sebagai bentuk peralihan antara Thallophyta atau tumbuhan bertalus (belum memiliki akar, batang, daun sejati) dengan Cormophyta atau tumbuhan berkormus (sudah memiliki akar, batang, daun sejati)

  Ciri-Ciri tumbuhan lumut :
  1. Merupakan tumbuhan dengan bentuk tubuh peralihan antara talus dengan kormus;
  2. Tidak memiliki pembuluh angkut;
  3. Mengalami metagenensis;
  4. Generasi gametofit yang lebih dominan;
  5. Menghasilkan spora;
  6. Hanya mengalami pertumbuhan memanjang.

Reproduksi Lumut
    Lumut bereproduksi dengan dua cara, yaitu seksual dan aseksual.
Reproduksi seksual terjadi melalui fertilisasi ovum oleh spermatozoid yang menghasilkan zygot. Sedangkan, Reproduksi aseksual terjadi dengan pembentukan spora melalui pembelahan meiosis sel induk spora didalam sporangium.


KLASIFIKASI LUMUT BERDASARKAN CLASSNYA

  1. Hepaticopsida (Lumut Hati), merupakan tumbuhan talus dengan tubuh berbentuk lembaran, pipih dan berlobus.
  2. Anthocerotopsida (Lumut Tanduk), berbentuk seperti lumut hati, tetapi sporofitnya berbentuk kapsul memanjang seperti tanduk dan mengandung kutikula.
  3. Bryopsida (Lumut Daun)

  1. Marcantia polymorpha >>> Sebagai obat hepatitis;
  2. Sphagnum >>> Untuk bahan pembalut & bahan bakar.
